Owl and Kingfisher sighted in the garden !

On separate occasions this year, we have seen a barn owl and a kingfisher flying over the stream.

We had noticed a large bird about and then as I stepped out of the front door a barn owl, closely pursued and harassed by some smaller birds, flew along the stream left to right and into the woodland.

I had always told people we would not see a kingfisher as we have no fish in the stream – what do I know?! The luminous colour of the kingfisher was unmistakable as it passed along the stream.
